About

We all have the potential to do great things and there is an inner ‘rebel’ in all of us which makes us unique.
Most of us just don’t know what it is or how to find it. I want to help people discover it.

My Why

  • I believe that all of us have the potential to achieve far greater things than what we expect ourselves to achieve. It is just that most times, we don’t know what our potential is or how we can maximise it.

  • This is why I started “The Rebel Framework”, because I want to encourage people to explore their potential by taking on a rebel approach in their career, money, and life.

  • By being a rebel in your mindset, perspectives, and actions, that’s how you can fulfil your potential and attain what I believe to be the ultimate goal in life - freedom.

On starting The Rebel Framework…

I hope that The Rebel Framework can help inspire people to do 1 of 3 things for themselves:

  1. Think Critically with a Rebel Mindset: Question all the norms, standards, usual practices that have been put on us.

  2. Explore Unconventional Perspectives: Think outside the box. Create your own Ideas and Perspectives.

  3. Act on Newly Formed Ideas: Taking that step to go and try something different in our lives.

How I plan on doing that:

  1. Share my thoughts and my own experiences through writing on these topics to invoke thoughts and ideas of your own.

  2. Share real life stories/cases on striving to be unique, pursuing what others think is impossible, and making them happen.

Who is Sam?

I am particularly interested in 2 things: People and Money.

  • I believe that people are at the core of what drives organisations to be great so I started out in HR in the corporate world. HR was the place for me to see how organisations treat their people.

  • Through personal experiences, I have come to understand Money solve Problems - not all of it, but most. Lack of money also causes problems. This is what got me into learning personal finance and investing.

In the corporate world, I learnt a valuable lesson about People and Money.

  • Leaders play a huge role in deciding how employees are treated.

  • Yet, companies need to worry about revenue more than their employees.

  • Thus, leaders have little choice but to act in the interest of the company.

In the end, only you can take care of yourself and take charge of your own path.

My Inner ‘Rebel’ Nature

I would think my journey is a little different than most…

  • I took a gap year from university. I tried working because I didn’t know what I liked to do.

  • I change jobs often. I like to challenge myself in different environments and explore my strengths/weaknesses.

  • I said no to opportunities for promotion because I wanted to protect my time to work on my side projects.

  • I dated my wife for 10 years before marrying her. And she is my childhood crush. (Took long enough oops…)

Naturally, starting out something on my own seems to be the way to progress with my life. I hope to help people go through this exploration wherever they are in their lives and create a new path for themselves.

4 topics of Life I am particularly interested to explore

There are 4 key aspects of Life that drives a lot of our behaviours. I am on my own path to explore these 4 topics and understand what drives our motivations.

In sharing my journey of exploration, hopefully you can learn how to improve these areas in your lives.

Read the article where I talk about the hierarchy of Life and how it impacts our needs/motivations. Read more here.
